HITECH changes HIPAA Security in a huge way! Covered Entities (CEs) and Business Associates (BAs) must get serious – the deadline for full compliance has passed.

The HITECH Act requires the Secretary of HHS to post a list of breaches of unsecured PHI affecting 500 or more individuals.The initial posting was made during week of February 22, 2010 and included an initial 36 cases. Since then, the list has grown.
